Lake Simcoe Fishing Report
Stay informed with the latest insights from our local experts. Updated Weekly

Current Focus: Lake Trout & Perch
Conditions: Water temperatures are steadily dropping, signalling excellent opportunities. Fish are moderately active, primarily holding in deeper structures and contours at depths of 60-80 feet. The early morning bite has proven to be the most consistently productive time.
Hot Lures: Anglers are finding great success with tube jigs (especially in clean white and shimmery silver patterns), aggressive vibrating blade baits, and minnow-imitating spoons. These presentations are triggering the most consistent strikes.
Pro Tip: Make good use of your marine electronics to actively locate schools of baitfish; the predatory Lake Trout and Perch are rarely far behind. A subtle, patiently presented lure is often the key to enticing a strike in these cooler conditions.
